About Me
My name is Sarah Cauterucci and not only am I a potty training consultant but I also spent 10 years working at a large children’s hospital as a pediatric urology nurse practitioner. During that time I personally cared for hundreds of patients with incontinence and helped them achieve dryness. Most patients with incontinence would come to us after previously meeting with their pediatricians who were not sure how to help them and the next step was yet another doctor. These children would come to our office scared, anxious and self-conscious. Their social problem of urinary incontinence would become medicalized and cause even further anxiety even though 99% of the time there was no medical reason for their incontinence.
In addition to the psychological impact of visiting a physician for incontinence, parents would have to deal with long wait times for visits, inconvenient appointment times, difficulty contacting their care team after the visit and no continuity of care leading to them repeating their story over and over again.
After struggling with my own son’s anxiety and insecurity over wetting the bed, I thought that there must be a better way, which is how Parchment was born.
I offer potty training solutions for children of all ages and their parents:
Parents who are not sure where to start with their toddlers
School aged children who continue to struggle with urinary incontinence
Children with special needs whose parents are not sure if they are ready to potty train
I live in Erdenheim, PA with my husband, son and daughter as well as our minigoldendoodle and sheepadoodle. In my free time I enjoy reading, keeping active playing tennis, taking barre class and hiking as well as traveling with my family.
